The datejust looks great, it’s a nice configuration but your collection will be very Rolex heavy by the time you add it and the explorer. Reactions: canonken Save Share I vote you keep the Explorer, but for a slightly different reason. I like the DJ, but I think it looks best when proportioned smaller than the 41mm case size. My first Rolex was supposed to be your choice number 3. I loved blue, thought that would be best. Now that my collection has grown, I’m SO happy I went with a DJ41 fluted/jubilee with a silver dial. The only Datejust I can consider is a 41. If it doesn't fit your wrist, downsize. But there's a reason it exists and sells. 36mm doesn't fit everybody anymore than a 44 suit jacket fits everybody. I like the DJ41, but to me it's not the perfect Rolex. In fact, there is no perfect watch. However, to me the closest thing to perfection is the Yacht-Master because it sits on the sports side (professional) but retains a dressy vibe to make it a bit more versatile.
