Windows was not detecting my 980 Pro or my original NVME. I checked Bios and it did see both NVME drives just Windows did not. Eventually I found that a driver needed to be installed. I added the driver into a new folder on the USB and was able to install the driver. Sure enough after installing the driver both my NVME drives sere detected.

Turn off PC, access BIOS, switch to UEFI then reboot. System will boot from disk 1 and D drive will become C drive. So return the original drive the HDD to the computer - take out the cloned SSD. make the USB WinPE rescue install. Take out the HDD - replace the coned SSD in the same SATA port. Boot from the rescue environment and follow the procedure to repair the boot. The most likely cause is the problem of the boot files.
